Facility Environmental Engineering
Industrial facilities must comply with environmental regulations and implement sound practices to keep their operations in order and reduce the potential for adverse impacts to human health and the environment. Environmental areas of facility operation that must be addressed on a regular basis include storm water, waste water, hazardous materials, hazardous wastes, oil, and air emissions. Because of environmental regulations, each of these elements of facility operation typically requires preparation of environmental management plans and the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the plans. The plans require effective operation and maintenance of facility infrastructure, including aboveground storage tanks, piping, and accessories; underground storage tanks, piping, and accessories; waste water conveyance and treatment equipment; storm water conveyance and treatment equipment; hazardous material and waste storage equipment and secondary containment; and heating/cooling/venting equipment. If properly maintained, all of these assets of a facility will provide long-term reliable service at minimal expense. Cox-Colvin & Associates regularly provides the following facility environmental engineering services to our clients:
