Initial Site Assessment
During the initial site assessment, Cox-Colvin gathers information on site conditions, known releases, potential releases, and exposure pathways to determine whether a cleanup may be needed and to identify environmental issues and areas of potential concern. Overseeing agencies sometimes use initial site assessments to set relative priorities between sites and to allocate oversight and other resources.
Our environmental site assessment experience includes the following:
- RCRA Facility Assessment (RFA), National Corrective Action Prioritization System (NCAPS) ranking, Release Assessments, and Solid Waste Management Unit (SWMU) elimination under the RCRA Corrective Action program
- Hazard Ranking System scoring under CERCLA
- UST site assessments
- Phase I site assessments under state Voluntary Action Programs (VAP), All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI), and real estate transaction-driven due diligence.
In each case, we start with a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and our clients' end goals.
