Oil & Gas Support

Cox-Colvin & Associates serves the Appalachian Basin oil and gas sector in a variety of ways. Unlike most consultants, however, our focus and expertise is on evaluating groundwater resources and the pathways by which groundwater can be contaminated. We are experienced with large, complicated groundwater contaminant investigations at oil refineries, waste management facilities, municipal and industrial landfills, and other types of industrial facilities. These investigations require a detailed understanding of background conditions allowing us to differentiate between naturally occurring constituents in groundwater, or other sources of contamination, from potential impacts from our clients facilities.

These investigations often include sampling of drinking water from offsite residential wells and municipal well fields. We specialize in educating private well owners and municipalities and, where necessary, working with them to rectify problems. Many of our highly experienced geologists, hydrogeologists, and engineers began their careers in the oil and gas business, and have successfully transferred this expertise to consulting with today’s oil and gas industry. Our location in central Ohio allows us to draw upon our knowledge and experience in Ohio and surrounding states and our strong reputation and personal relationships with state regulators, to quickly react to the needs of our clients.
